Sarit Kaplan, DMD, MS, FACP
Board Certified Prosthodontist Orofacial Pain & TMJ
Dr. Kaplan graduated from the Hadassah School of Dental Medicine at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, where she earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). Passionate about making a difference in her patients’ quality of life through dentistry, she advanced her specialized skills by attending the post-graduate Prosthodontic Residency Program at the University of Maryland.
This highly concentrated three-year program in Prosthodontics consisted of advanced education and training treating simple to complex dental restorations for all ages. At the same time, she also earned the degree of Master of Science. Once completed, Dr. Kaplan surpassed all the required exams, peer reviews and extensive treatment hours to earn the prestigious honor of Board Certification in Prosthodontics.
Dr. Kaplan is one of a selected group of specialists in Greater DC who have extensive experience, education and training in the areas of Obstructive Sleep Apnea appliances and in the diagnosis, treatment and occlusal restoration of temporomandibular disorders, better known to most as TMJ and/or TMD.
Dr. Kaplan is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
As a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Prosthodontic Residency Program at the University of Maryland Dental School, Dr. Kaplan instructs future prosthodontists about the challenges of treating highly complex dental and esthetic procedures.
As an educator, Dr. Kaplan has published case studies in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry and the Journal of the American Dental Association. She is the Past President of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) – Maryland region. Dr. Kaplan was also selected by her peers to serve on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and she served as the chairperson for the Poster Program of the Academy.

Michael Singer, DDS, FAAMP, FACP, FAAOP
Board Certified Prosthodontist Maxillofacial Prosthodontist Board Certified in Orofacial Pain
Dr. Singer attended the Northwestern University Dental School where he obtained the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Prosthetic Program where he reached the rank of Colonel. Being passionate about the specialty fields of maxillofacial prosthetics, prosthodontics and temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), is what lead Dr. Singer to a Fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at the Naval Post-Graduate Dental School at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and the Orofacial Pain Graduate Program at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Singer completed six years of post-graduate training beyond dental school.

Recognized both nationally and internationally, Dr. Singer is one of the leading specialists in treating the full range of facial and oral pain that are related to complex temporomandibular disorders and/or severely compromised dentition. His specialties also include maxillofacial prosthetics by restoring facial structures lost to trauma, birth defects or cancer.
Dr. Singer serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the post-graduate Prosthodontic Residency Program at the University of Maryland Dental School. As one of the leading educators in his field, he teaches future Prosthodontists about complex restorative procedures. Dr. Singer lectures throughout the United States at professional dental symposiums and is a featured speaker for the American Academy of Pain Management.

Lauren M. Bolding, DDS, MS, FACP
Board Certified Prosthodontist Maxillofacial Prosthodontist Orofacial Pain & TMJ
Dr. Bolding earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry. Passionate about specialty dentistry, she went on to obtain a certificate in Prosthodontics as well as a Master of Science degree from the Prosthodontic Residency Program at the University of Maryland. Once completed, her advanced training continued having been accepted into the Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Oncology Fellowship program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Dr. Bolding is a Board-Certified Maxillofacial Prosthodontist, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, having passed all the clinical exams, peer reviews and extensive clinical hours that are necessary to achieve these prestigious accomplishments.
In recent years, Dr. Bolding was the recipient of the Joseph B. Barron Award that acknowledges an elite group of Maxillofacial Prosthodontists for their exceptional ability in the areas of clinical, educational and research as specialists. She was also voted top doctor by her peers as the 2019 Top Invisalign Dentist in the Greater DC vicinity.
Dr. Bolding specializes in the restoration of oral and facial structures lost to cancer, trauma and birth defects. Currently, she is the Clinical Associate at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where she treats patients having undergone surgery and/or radiation therapy and Chemotherapy for oral and
head/neck cancer. Additionally, she treats patients and oversees residents treating patients with complex prosthodontic needs.
Dr. Bolding is the current President of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) – Maryland Chapter. Additionally, she held the position of treasurer for the ACP from 2016 – 2018.

Carl Driscoll, DMD, FACP
Board Certified Prosthodontist Maxillofacial Prosthodontist Ectodermal Dysplasias
Dr. Driscoll is a Board-Certified Maxillofacial Prosthodontist who joined the Dental & TMJ Specialists of Greater DC in September 2018. His expertise spans over many years, treating patients with complex prosthodontic needs including Ectodermal Dysplasia (oral cavity); Dentinogenesis Imperfecta and Amelogenesis Imperfecta.
His lifelong dedication towards the advancements in Prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, implantology, maxillofacial prostheses, Ectodermal Dysplasia (oral cavity) has been highly respected by both the dental and medical communities. A leader and mentor in these unique specialty fields of dentistry are what lead to his twenty-one-year tenure as Professor and Director at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and Prosthodontic Residency Program.
Prior to Dr. Driscoll’s directorship at the University of Maryland, he held the rank of Colonel in the United States Army. As an officer, he was most proud of receiving an early promotion to ‘full’ Colonel, an honor that is earned by less than 1% of all prospective candidates. He completed his military service with the position of Program Director of the Prosthodontic Residency Program at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Dr. Driscoll is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), as well as the Academy of Prosthodontics.
He has served as President of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, President of the American Board of Prosthodontics and as President of the American College of Prosthodontists. Very few dental specialists have accomplished this trifecta honor.
Dr. Driscoll is the recipient of both the Garver-Staffanou and the Moulton Awards that recognize the significant impact and contribution he has provided to the art and science of fixed prosthodontics as well as his lifetime service to the field.
As a mentor and educator, he has given over 450 presentations nationally and internationally and has authored over 75 publications. He was recently named as the American College of Prosthodontists Educator of the Year.

John V. Louis, DMD
Periodontist
Dr. Louis graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where he earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) specializing in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery. Thereafter, he joined the team at Dental & TMJ Specialists of Greater DC in August 2010.
Dr. Louis is well-known as a leader in Computer Guided Dental Implant Surgery, where implant surgery is performed via 3-D planning. This unique procedure provides the most accurate implant placement with the least amount of invasiveness and discomfort to the patient. It also allows Dr. Louis to extract single or multiple teeth, inserting the implant(s) followed by the replacement of a crown or bridge on the same day.
As a Periodontist, Dr. Louis’ mission is to ensure that his patients sustain the optimal oral systemic health. As a result, his expertise includes treating patients that have gum disease, dry mouth, burning mouth syndrome, breath disorder, sensitive teeth, gum recession, and fractured or missing teeth.

Kathleen Frankle, DDS, MS
Board Certified Endodontist
Dr. Frankle is a 1985 graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School. Subsequently, she completed a one-year general residency followed by a two-year postgraduate specialty endodontic residency. Upon passage of a three-part examination by the American Board of Endodontics (ABE), she became a Diplomate of the ABE in 1994.
Dr. Frankle has been in private practice since 1988 in Washington, DC, and Maryland. She has also been a volunteer dentist in the Marshall Islands through Mercy International in Eniwetok, Ebeye, and Kwajalein in 1986 and 1988. In Maryland, she has participated with Donated Dental as well as various Missions of Mercy with her husband.
She is the Past President of the Greater Washington Academy of Women Dentists (GWAWD). Through the local American Dental Association component, she served on the peer review and ethics committee. In 2003 and 2006 she was honored by her colleagues to be chosen for membership in the American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists. These invitational organizations recognize dentists for their publications, community involvement, and leadership in dentistry. Dr. Frankle has been frequently acknowledged in the Washington Magazine’s Best Dentist list for many years.
Dr. Frankle is a part of the specialty team at the Dental & TMJ Specialists of Greater DC practice. She participates with the Johns Hopkins Head & Neck Tumor Board and deals with the impingement of radiation and endodontic process but is pleased to evaluate and treat any endodontic issues.

Alan H. Singer, DDS
Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Alan H. Singer is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, specializing in reconstruction of the face and mouth. He has been extensively trained in maxillofacial pathology, facial reconstruction and orthognathic (jaw) surgery. Dr. Singer has a special interest in dental alveolar surgery, including wisdom teeth removal, extractions, bone grafting, & dental implant surgery.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Singer began his dental training in Washington, DC having graduated at the top of his class at Howard University College of Dentistry. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Howard University College of Dentistry, the Washington, DC VA Medical Center, and DC General Hospital, where he also served as chief resident.
Dr. Singer is the Past President of the District of Columbia Dental Society, where he also served as a delegate to the American Dental Association for fourteen years. He has taught at his alma mater Howard University College of Dentistry since 1981. He also served as the liaison to Howard University College of Dentistry and the District of Columbia Elementary Schools, for “Give Kids a Smile” for twelve years.
Passionate about making a difference in his community, Dr. Singer continues to volunteer his professional expertise to numerous organizations such as the N Street Village, the Spanish Catholic Center, the Hebrew Home in Rockville and to Holocaust survivors in the Greater DC metro area.
